Disaster Preparedness Month
With the devastating impacts of natural disasters we have seen in recent weeks, like Hurricane Ida that struck Louisiana and the earthquake devastation in Haiti, it’s more important than ever for our community to be prepared to recover from these crises.
And we’re not just talking businesses and infrastructure – we want to make preparedness accessible for local families, so that they have the tools they need to face unexpected emergencies and make decisions for their loved ones.
That’s where United Way comes in. We are proud partners with Palm Beach County Emergency Management, working with their team year-round to anticipate needs and create solutions ahead of disasters. When a hurricane or other crisis strikes, our team is ready to activate and connect donations and volunteers to people who need help!
This Disaster Preparedness Month, we’re sharing a few resources so that our community can be strong and resilient in the remaining weeks of hurricane season (we’re not out of the woods yet – the official peak of hurricane season is on September 15th!).
