Racial Equity Institute (REI) Phase 1 Workshop/ In-Person ONLY!

United Way of Palm Beach County will be hosting a voluntary two-day REI Phase 1 workshop facilitated by the Racial Equity Institute (REI) on February 27th & 28th from 8:30am to 5:00pm. This is an in-person workshop being held at Palm Beach State College- Lake Worth Campus.

The REI Phase 1 workshop is designed to develop the capacity of participants to better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. Moving away from a focus on personal bigotry and bias, this workshop presents a historical, cultural, and structural analysis of racism. With shared language and a clearer understanding of how institutions and systems are producing unjust and inequitable outcomes, participants should leave the training better equipped to begin to work for change.

We ask that all participants keep an open mind and welcome new situations/opinions/experiences that are different from those you’re familiar with.

Full attendance both days is required.

Continental breakfast and lunch will be served- let us know if you have any food allergies. You will receive an e-mail a few days prior to the training providing additional information.

Registration is limited to:

  • Funded agency EDs/CEOs
  • Funded program directors/staff
  • United Way staff and Board members

Register as an ‘Observer’ if you have previously attended this training.

Register under “Waiting list” only if regular enrollment is full.

United Way is committed to supporting our partners to participate in racial equity learning experiences.
