United Way of Palm Beach County is working diligently with local and regional partners, including United Way of Broward, United Way of Miami-Dade, United Way of Turks and Caicos, and the Bahamian government, to ensure that the most needed items are collected and sent to the Bahamas. Here are a few ways you can get involved and help our neighbors in the Bahamas recover from Hurricane Dorian.
Make a Financial Donation
Text uwdorian to 41444 to give, or donate to the Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund. 100% of donations will be used to meet storm-related needs and support mid and long-term recovery efforts in the Bahamas, as well as to assist evacuees from the Bahamas to our community.
Supplies requested by the Bahamian Government include:
Bottled water | Water purification tablets | Non-perishable food | Sleeping bags | Bedding | Tents | Disinfectants
Hygiene Kits (tissue, toothpaste, tooth brushes, towels, sanitary napkins)
Cleaning Supplies (bleach, mops, brooms, garbage bags, sponges, clothes pins)
Baby formula, bottles and supplies | Flashlights | Batteries | Mosquito repellent (DEET-free)
Cooking utensils | Plastic sheeting/tarps | Disposable plates and eating utensils
Power banks | Solar-powered chargers | Portable radios (battery or crank) | Cloth bags or biodegradable bags | First aid kits (bandages, gauze and tape)
