Serving Palm Beach County’s families of children with special needs (age birth to 22 years), the Helpline provides a one-stop shop for information, referrals and system-navigation assistance.
U.S. military veterans are some of our community’s greatest heroes. With over 80,000 veterans in Palm Beach County, MISSION UNITED is tasked to provide support to nonprofit agencies that serve our veteran population; funded agencies are listed below.
Veterans can find themselves underemployed, unable to access physical and mental health treatment, or struggling to maintain adequate housing. Nearly 50% of veterans who need treatment for mental health conditions seek it, and only 50% of those receive minimally adequate care. Veterans and their families can access these programs and resources through the 2-1-1 Helpline.
Through MISSION UNITED, United Way of Palm Beach County and our partners serve those who served our country by ensuring veterans receive the support needed to lead fulfilling, healthy lives after completing military service. This is accomplished by fostering communication and collaboration among these agencies while providing capacity-building and financial support grants. We complete this through working with local government, the Veterans Administration, and other non-profit organizations to ensure success.
The MISSION UNITED grant is available to nonprofit organizations serving the veteran community of Palm Beach County, including veteran dependents and caregivers. Grant categories include Capacity Building and Support Services to assist organizations that will promote veteran stability and long-term self-sufficiency. The deadline to apply is April 2, 2024.
