Help celebrate and support LGBTQA+ people in our community!

The best way to build a stronger community is to welcome everyone, valuing and learning from the diverse experiences and perspectives of people who call Palm Beach County home.

For decades, people in the LGBTQA+ community have shown resilience, determination, and strength in the face of widespread discrimination. Now it’s time for the whole community to celebrate and support them with a message of hope, comfort, and love.

United Way of Palm Beach County lives united against hate, prejudice, and discrimination of all kinds. We are proud to fund COMPASS and their Group Mentoring program. Located in Lake Worth Beach, COMPASS’ mentoring program serves lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or questioning (LGBTQ) youth between the ages of 6-18, with a focus on middle and high school students. They provide a safe place for LGBTQ youth to feel supported and be connected with social, mental health, and other critical resources.

You can celebrate and support the LGBTQA+ community by checking out COMPASS’ upcoming Pride Market on June 5 from 8am-1pm.

The Pride Market will be a free, open-air marketplace at Bryant Park on the City of Lake Worth Beach Intracoastal. Attendees can expect to see some of their favorite Pride vendors, along with many new ones, who will offer quality products, prepared foods, fresh produce, plants, gourmet meals and treats, handicrafts and more. This will be a family-friendly and pet-friendly LGBTQ+ event. Learn more here.

Pride Month is a special opportunity for us to celebrate and support the LGBTQA+ members of our community. Let’s show everyone that we truly are stronger together.

Additional Resources:

Palm Beach County’s Care Council is another great resource for the LGBTQA+ community. This council facilitates multiple committees on improving access to health care, such as the LGBTQ Health Equity Committee which provides a platform where individuals are able to lend a significant voice to the issues, barriers and gaps in prevention, medical care and treatment, and biomedical intervention. The Care Council also has recommendations of local resources and providers for the LGBTQA+ Community listed here.
