Palm Beach County is preparing for the unexpected, and we need your help.
The Palm Beach County Office of Emergency Management is conducting a Full-Scale Family Assistance and Survivor Care Center (FASCC) Exercise on Thursday, October 29, 2026, and we are seeking 25 to 50 or more adult community volunteers to participate in this important emergency preparedness exercise.
Following a mass casualty incident, a Family Assistance and Survivor Care Center (FASCC) may be established to provide a safe, supportive environment for survivors, family members, and friends.
A FASCC helps connect affected individuals with critical information and resources, including:
This exercise gives emergency response teams an opportunity to practice these important responsibilities in a realistic environment.
We are looking for volunteers to portray concerned family members and friends during the exercise. You may participate in one or both of the following roles:
In-Person Family Members & Friends
Visit the FASCC and interact with staff who are practicing how to provide information, assistance, and compassionate support to individuals affected by an emergency.
Telephone Family Members & Friends
Call the FASCC and interact with staff who are practicing how to respond to concerned callers seeking information and assistance.
Your participation will help emergency response teams practice their roles, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen Palm Beach County’s ability to provide compassionate, effective support to families during a real emergency.
