Next month, more than 200,000 students across Palm Beach County will head back to school—backpacks in hand and hearts filled with a mix of excitement and uncertainty.
Some will return ready to learn, supported and prepared. However, far too many will begin the year hungry, lacking the resources they need, and unsure of what the school year or their future will hold.
At United Way of Palm Beach County, we believe every child deserves the chance to succeed.
Through our Youth Opportunity investments, we partner with trusted local nonprofit organizations that provide support and services to children throughout the county.
Together, we invest in and champion:
- Mentorship programs connecting youth with caring adults.
- Family Weekend Backpack meals to prevent hunger when school cafeterias are closed.
- After-school programs that offer homework help in a nurturing environment.
- Literacy supplies that develop strong readers and confident learners.
- College and career readiness programs that prepare students for post-graduate success.
