September is Hunger Action Month. During this month, United Way of Palm Beach County and our hunger relief community partners are raising awareness about food insecurity in Palm Beach County.
United Way of Palm Beach County and our 60+ partners work year-round on meeting needs, building infrastructure, and coordinating efforts so that everyone in PBC can have access to nutritious food. All of us are working together towards the greater good of this community – for children whose main source of food is school meal programs, for seniors who are forced to choose between groceries and medication, and for parents who work two jobs and still cannot afford to feed their families and others.
Join us by posting on your social media accounts on Hunger Awareness Day, which is Friday, September 23!
What is Hunger Awareness/Wear Orange Day?
Hunger Awareness Day will bring public awareness to the struggle faced by millions of low-income Americans to simultaneously avoid hunger, afford nutritious foods, and stay healthy. Orange is a color that sparks notice and draws attention. We believe the issue of hunger needs attention.
