One of our goals at United Way is to increase engagement of volunteers in between disasters.Ê We have a great opportunity for volunteers below!
The Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management is conducting two routine field drills. Volunteer actors are needed to play the role of evacuees, specifically evacuees who would be leaving their homes and businesses in other counties during a nuclear power plant emergency.Ê The details are as follows:
We are seeking approximately 100 people to assist.Ê We seek adult volunteers with privately owned vehicles, capable of walking one half (1/2) mile, and who are affiliated with organizations that are recognized by Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management.
The volunteers will:
Both exercises will take place at Okeeheelee Park – 7500 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL, 33413
When is this happening?
These routine exercises are required by FEMA as part of the Radiological Emergency Preparedness Program.
