Family Weekend Backpack Meal Program

Happening Oct 16, 2026 - May 28, 2027 | 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Join United Way of Palm Beach County in partnership with Feeding Dreams to support students at Roosevelt Elementary School through the Family Weekend Backpack Meal Program.

For many children, access to nutritious meals over the weekend can make a meaningful difference in their ability to learn, grow, and thrive. As a volunteer, you’ll help ensure that approximately 120 students receive Power Packs filled with food to help bridge the gap between school meals and the weekend.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Volunteer opportunities are available every Friday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers help deliver Power Packs directly to classrooms so students have food to take home for the weekend.

Volunteers may also assist with sorting and preparing Power Packs approximately once a month, depending on delivery dates.

You don’t have to volunteer every Friday! Whether you can help once or return regularly, your time and support are appreciated.

Volunteer Commitment

  • Approximately 2 hours per week.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • No background check required. Your driver’s license will be scanned upon entering the school.

Ready to Make a Difference?

Your time can help put food on the table, ease a family’s worries, and give children the nourishment they need to succeed.
