Gleaning Volunteer Project

Happening Saturday, Jun 15, 2024 | 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Join United Way of Palm Beach County and CROS Ministries in feeding the hungry by picking fresh mangoes. All of the mangoes collected will be distributed to our neighbors in need and give them access to fresh, nutritious food.

Due to hot weather, we will be starting this event at 8:00am and ending by 10:30am to avoid any dehydration or heat exposure issues. Please wear closed toe shoes, comfy clothes, and a hat/sunscreen.

ATTENTION: The mango is a member of the poison ivy family, and the sap can cause a skin dermatitis in those who are allergic. We recommend those with that allergy not participate in this gleaning event.

Directions to the gleaning site in Lantana: Solid Waste Authority High Ridge Road Grove
  1. Take I-95 to the Lantana exit #61. Upon exiting, head west on Lantana.
  2. The first traffic light you come to will be High Ridge Road. Turn Left on High Ridge Road.
  3. Once you pass the establishment on the corner, you will see high hedges and trees on the left hand side. The gate will be on the left and is opposite the entrance of Pine Road which will be on the right. Turn left into the groves.

Please do not try to access the groves through the main entrance of the SWA off of Lantana. You cannot reach the grove through that entrance.

If there is the possibility of bad weather, contact Robynne at (561) 713-4317 any time after 7:00am to confirm the gleaning is still taking place.
