Palm Beach County is responding to two local disasters; the tragic plane crash in Greenacres that has displaced residents and devastating flooding that has damaged homes.
United Way of Palm Beach County has been activated and is working alongside Palm Beach County Emergency Management and other lead agencies at the County’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to support coordinated responce and recovery efforts.
Monetary donations are needed to support our neighbors impacted by these emergencies.
Every dollar donated to United Way’s Disaster Relief Fund will stay in Palm Beach County to help local residents and communities recover.
As Palm Beach County’s designated lead agency for Emergency Support Function 15 (ESF-15), Volunteers and Donations, United Way plays a critical role in coordinating volunteers and donations during times of disaster.
When activated, our team works in coordination with county emergency management officials and partner agencies to help organize community resources, respond to identified needs, and support recovery efforts.
At this time, monetary donations are the most effective way to help. United Way of Palm Beach County has not been asked to collect clothing, food, household goods, or other in-kind donations for these emergencies.
Please do not drop off donated items unless an official request is announced. We will share updates if additional needs are identified.
In times of crisis, the strength of our community is found in how we come together. United Way is here to connect generosity with need, support our partners, and stand alongside our neighbors on the road to recovery.
