This year, our United Way of Palm Beach County’s Women United proudly celebrated a major milestone: the 10th Annual This Girl Can! It was a powerful morning dedicated to inspiring and empowering middle school, high school, and college students across our community. What began as a vision to uplift and encourage young women has grown into a meaningful tradition, creating opportunities for connection, leadership, and personal growth for the next generation.
From the moment students walked through the doors, the energy in the room was undeniable. The day was filled with encouragement, meaningful conversations, and moments of inspiration designed to help each participant recognize her strengths, embrace her voice, and imagine the possibilities ahead. Through interactive discussions, mentorship, and shared experiences, students were reminded that their ideas, talents, and dreams matter.
This incredible event would not have been possible without the generosity of our sponsors, including Publix Super Markets Charities, TBC Corporation, and The LaFrance Project, as well as the dedicated partners and volunteers who gave their time and heart to make this experience so impactful. Their support helped create a welcoming and empowering space where students could feel seen, heard, and encouraged.
A sincere thank you to our valued catering partner, Shamekia Falcon of Granny Bea’s Butters, for her support in helping make this event memorable.
A highlight of the morning was hearing from an inspiring lineup of speakers and mentors who shared personal stories of resilience, leadership, and perseverance. Their honesty and wisdom sparked meaningful conversations and reminded every student in attendance that confidence is built by embracing challenges, learning from setbacks, and believing in your own potential.
The impact of the day extended beyond inspiration and turned into action. In a powerful act of service, student participants came together to assemble 280 hygiene kits that will directly support young adults experiencing homelessness through Vita Nova. Watching these young leaders serve others with compassion and purpose was a powerful reminder that leadership is not only about finding your voice, but also about using it to make a difference.
As we celebrate 10 years of This Girl Can!, we are filled with gratitude for every sponsor, volunteer, speaker, mentor, and student who has helped shape this event into what it is today. Most of all, we are inspired by the young women who continue to show us what is possible when confidence meets community.
Because when girls come together with purpose, there is no limit to what they can achieve.
